A much-loved children’s classic will be brought to life in Llandrindod Wells next month when the AH Players present The Railway Children.
The amateur dramatics group will perform Mike Kenny’s stage adaptation of E. Nesbit’s timeless novel at The Albert Hall from October 3-5.
First staged at the National Railway Museum in York in 2008 - and later in London’s Waterloo Station - Kenny’s adaptation has been praised for its heartfelt retelling of the Edwardian story. It follows three children forced to leave their comfortable city life after their father is suddenly taken away, and the friendships, mysteries and challenges they encounter beside the railway tracks of their new rural home.

“The Railway Children is more than a story. It’s a celebration of hope, family, and the power of kindness.” said a spokesperson for AH Players.
“We can’t wait to share it with our community in the beautiful setting of The Albert Hall.”
Performances will take place at 7pm on the Friday and Saturday, with a matinee at 2:30pm on the Sunday.
All proceeds from the production will go toward the upkeep of The Albert Hall, supporting the preservation of this historic venue.
