A Breconshire-based tractor run held last weekend has raised an incredible £7,500 for charitable causes.

The event, held on Saturday (June 30), was a charity drive for Bwlch and Crickhowell YFC and the Wales Air Ambulance

The charity was chosen due to organiser Ieuan Parry being injured in work and needing the assistance of the air ambulance service.

The group of tractors set off from Talybont Market at 4:30pm, before passing through the villages of Pencelli, Llanfrynach, Groesffordd, Llanfiangel Talyllyn, Llangors and Bwlch, before finishing up in Cwmdu for a hog roast and raffle.

86 tractors attend the event, which had sponsorship from a number of different local sponsors. The event had huge support from the local public with donations too.

Ieuan Parry said: “I would like to thank people for all of their support throughout the event and for the generosity of everyone that has contributed, I never would have imagined we’d have the support the we did.

“We’ve raised a total of £7,500 - of which £4,500 will be donated to the Welsh Air Ambulance and £3,000 to Bwlch and Crickhowell Young Farmers.”
