TALGARTH blew the race for promotion to Division 2 wide open after romping to a 119 run win over Bishop's School.

Third placed Talgarth took advantage of second placed Powys rivals Presteigne's abandoned derby fixture with Builth Wells 2nds to close the gap, with all three sides realistically in with a shout of going up.

The side from the Asylum Fields showed some bounce-back ability after the previous week's defeat to Builth as they picked up a maximum 20 points.

Captain Lee Pugh returned to the side after injury and he could only watch as fellow opener Luke Bowen was gone for a duck before he was then caught behind for 19.
