Animal lovers in Powys have been advised on how to keep their furry companions safe during the scorching weather.
The RSPCA, who have previously issued warnings about leaving dogs in hot cars, has compiled a list of "top tips" for pet owners.
One of the animal charity’s recommendations was a child’s paddling pool for pets like dogs who love water.
They also said that cats enjoy ice cubes made of "tasty cat food" to cool off and cat food that’s been kept in the fridge.
One of the recommendations was to wrap an ice pack or a frozen water bottle in a tea towel for pets to lie on, or using cold treats to make pet-friendly ice lollies.
The RSPCA have said to ensure pets don’t get sunburnt by using "pet-safe sun cream", and to make sure animals have access to shade and fresh drinking water whether at home or out.
They also said to keep fish tanks out of direct sunlight and to ensure water levels in both tanks and ponds are topped up.
Do you have any pictures of your pets staying cool in the sun? Send them to [email protected] or to our Facebook page and we’ll share our favourites.
Cats and dogs can suffer heatstroke, which can be fatal, in the sunny weather without shade and water.
