A road is closed between Llangynidr and Crickhowell following a "traffic incident".

Cwm Crawnon Road has been described by Dyfed-Powys Police as impassable, with traffic building up through rush hour in the area as a result.

Police took to social media to advise drivers to avoid the B4558 at 8.15am today.

The post, shared to both Facebook and Twitter, said: "Officers are currently at a traffic incident on the B4558 between Llangynidr and Crickhowell.

"Traffic is building up and the road is impassable, please avoid the area until further notice. Thank you for your patience."

Police said they were called early this morning as a lorry had broken down on the road which remains closed as of 11am today.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 7.40am this morning to a report of a broken down lorry on the A4558 between Llangynidr and Crickhowell. Members of the public are advised to avoid the area."
