The band performed ‘The Great Escape’ and the theme tune of ‘Dad’s Army’ among several other songs throughout the evening of entertainment and remembrance.

Town Mayor John Powell welcomed the crowd before the proceedings began. Musical performances, poetry, speeches and the Lighting of the Beacon went ahead to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
