Hay Summer Show provided a fantastic day out for locals and day trippers on Sunday, 20 July, despite the day being cut a little short due to some significant downpours of rain.
Dog shows, stunt riders and pig racing were the main events of the day at the free to attend event.
The summer show committee helped pull the community together for a fun day for all ages.
The dog show was won by Geraldine Cleary and her pooch Spencer. They won the ‘Syd Morris Shield’ for the first time - as it was a new addition - and a voucher for Mucky Pups of Glasbury.

Joseph’s amazing pigs hosted multiple pig races named ‘The Ham National’, Madness Trampolines had everyone bouncing and Stuntworld put on spectacular displays with jumps and tricks on two wheels and four - even performing on the wet and slippery grass.

Chairman of Hay Summer Show Committee, Simon Morris said: “The Hay Summer Show motto is ‘by the community for the community’, and as a committee we couldn’t have felt more grateful to our local community and vendors who came out to support the show despite the terrible weather.
“The committee are able to keep the show a free-to-access annual event because fundraising events held through the year are so well supported by our community, as well as the kindness of HADSCAL and Hay Town Council in loaning us the land.
“Despite the rain cutting the day short before the main acts finished and most disappointingly local originals band McCarthyism played their live set we hope everyone enjoyed the day. We want to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help organise, set up , run and pack away the show we really couldn’t have done it without you. We welcome any and all feedback to help make Hay Summer Show 2026 bigger and better.”
Tables and chairs were loaned by Lucky 7 brewery, Hay Chamber of Commerce and Clyro Village hall and Hay Fire Service were on hand for the community day. Sports clubs vacated the field and accommodated the set up of the show.
