Wales' oldest and most decorated regiment, the Royal Welsh marched through Hay-on-Wye earlier today (Saturday, 20 May) as part of a freedom parade.

The march was a celebration of the reaffirmation for their Freedom of the County.

The Royal Welsh Military band, veterans and cadets were also involved in the march that started on Oxford Road car park and went to the grounds of Hay Castle where a short ceremony and service took place, including permission by the regiment to exercise freedom of the county.

Receiving salute as they passed by, the Royal Welsh paraded passed the town's Cenotaph.

The parade ended at around 12.20pm.
