THE first village agricultural show of 2018 in Radnorshire got off to a great start at Llanbister on Bank Holiday Monday.
This year’s show saw a new committee and new officials in charge with a number of new ways of doing things.
Show president was Joan Bennett with Marc Williams as show chairman.
Other officers included Gerry Hughes as vice chairman; Margaret Grieve, secretary; James Grieve, treasurer and David Strachan assistant treasurer.
The event was staged at Trawscoed Farm by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Paul Lewis.
During the day there was plenty on offer for the large crowds that turned out to share in the day.
These included horse and pony show including jumping classes, a children’s fancy dress competition, a sheep show, a dog show, athletics for all ages and a raffle draw.
There was also a craft and produce section with a special section for children’s entries in the show tent.
The day concluded with a sheep shearing competition to round off the day.
