Powys is set to host a unique theatrical event this August with the world premiere of The Tempest Retold, a new solo show by award-winning storyteller Debs Newbold.

The performance, taking place on Saturday, August 2 at 7pm at The Willow Globe in Llanwrthwl, marks the latest in Newbold’s acclaimed series of Shakespeare adaptations. Her previous trilogy - Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, and King Lear - all debuted at London’s Shakespeare’s Globe.

The Tempest Retold is a work in progress, blending Shakespeare’s original language with fresh material. It offers audiences a rare chance to see the creative process unfold and to witness a new take on one of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays.

After the performance, the audience will be invited to give feedback to help shape the show’s development. It’s a one-off event - the only time this version will be performed - making it a special occasion for theatre lovers and Shakespeare fans alike.
