POWYS council’s cabinet is meeting this morning to decided the future of secondary education in Brecon and Radnorshire.
The independent-controlled council’s cabinet will consider plans to close both Llandrindod and Builth Wells high schools and replace them with one school operating on the two existing sites.
The cabinet will also be asked to confirm the abandonment of plans to close Brecon and Gwernyfed high schools.
The fate of closure listed Llanfihangel Rhydithon Primary School in Dolau will also be considered by the cabinet which will also look at plans for the future of Llanbister County Primary.
Earlier this month the full council said it wanted the cabinet to suspend the proposed school closures.
