Ysgol y Bannau quizzers are celebrating after winning the regional round of Cwis Dim Clem, a quiz arranged by the Mentrau Iaith around the country, an organisation that works to promote the use of the Welsh language.
Pupils from Ysgol y Bannau competed in the school round, with their winning team scoring higher than any other team in the Brecknock and Radnorshire area and therefore gaining a place at the regional round.
In the regional round they competed against nine other teams from Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Pembrokeshire – and won!
They will now compete against regional winner and runner up teams from two other areas on March 24 through Microsoft Teams.
The original team was (Left to right in picture) Reuben Davies, Llewelyn Robjohn, Calon Amoss and Trystan Dafydd New. Unfortunately, Trystan Dafydd was ill on the day of the regional round, but Eleri Keddle kindly stepped in on the day.
A spokesperson for the school said: “Congratulations to the five of them and best wishes to the team on March 24th!”
