A MUM whose two-year-old son died after battling a rare form of childhood cancer will honour his legacy by climbing Wales' three highest peaks.

Michelle Norman's son Cameron Davies succumbed in September 2012 to the cancer pineoblastoma, an aggressive and rare malignant brain tumour that occurs in childhood.

The 35-year-old, of Gurnos, Ystradgynlais, and a group of friends are planning to complete the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge and scale Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in just two days in May.

Michelle and her 17 friends have named their group 'Pob Cam i Cam (every footstep for Cameron) and will be raising funds for children's cancer charity, LATCH Cymru.

During Cameron's treatment at Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales, Michelle and dad Paul Davies lived on site at the hospital in family accommodation provided by the charity.

Michelle said: "LATCH Cymru is a charity we will forever be grateful to."

Another way to donate is by texting pcic48, followed by the amount, to 70070.
