RADNORSHIRE’S Club Championship squad played away in the premier league at Islwyn last Saturday, and unfortunately continued their disappointing start to the season.

They only won on one rink, that of Robert Weale playing against his old club Islwyn, and therefore gaining just two points to add to their tally this season so far.

However the Radnorshire’s Ladies travelled to play Bro Myrdian at Carmarthen last Saturday morning and won on one rink and lost the other, but they did have an overall shot difference of 8 shots to 32.

Last Sunday there was a ladies senior trial at home, this being the first time Radnorshire have not been represented for 18 years, which must be a marked credit in itself.

The reasons being that Paula Summerfield decided not to put her name down, although a member at Radnor she travels regularly from Newtown to play, which is a considerable amount of dedication and commitment. Wendy Price also did not put her name down this year, and Betty Morgan MBE has not placed her name forward.

The previous Wednesday Radnorshire’s Over 60’s were at home to Severn Valley, and won on all four rinks played. The hosts won by 126 shots to 45 a massive difference of 81 shots.

This Friday, Radnorshire’s Over 60’s are away at Flint in a four rink match starting at 12pm. On Saturday, the club’s premier league squad are at home to Merthyr in the club championship, the match taking place between 2pm and 4m.

The Radnorshire Sunday side return to action after a weekend without a match and are away at Duffryn in the team championships starting at 2pm.

The following Wednesday Radnorshire’s mixed friendly bowlers are at Leominster in a six rink game starting at 2pm.
