Bowlers from Llandrindod Wells have come away with gold medals at this year’s national championships.

The British Isles Championships were held at Llandrindod Wells Bowls Club from June 30 - July 2 this year.

Steve Jones and Sam Roff won the Open wins after excellent wins over Jersey (21-12), England (25-22) and Ireland (24-17).

Ryan Atkins was also victorious the Under 25 Singles category, after wins over England (21-12) and Scotland (21-19).

The event, which saw hundreds of spectators and bowlers flock to Llandrindod Wells, kicked off on Friday, July 1, with a packed programme of events running throughout the day, before concluding with the finals of all events taking place on the Saturday.

This year, for the first time in British Isles Championships history, male and female representatives from England, Guernsey, Ireland, Jersey, Scotland and Wales competing at the same venue at the same time.
