PRESTEIGNE Bowls Club have been delivering taster bowls sessions to year six pupils and thanks to a recent grant they have been able to buy new equipment.
Junior bowls is an initiative from the Welsh Bowls Coaching Association to bring taster sessions to year six pupils.
Presteigne Bowls Club (PBC), the Mid-Wales Bowling League champions for 2015-16, have been delivering these sessions for the past seven years to children from Presteigne County Primary school.
The grant, from Sport Wales, has allowed the club to purchase junior bowls, equipment and training for coaches and Thomas Taylor Bowls have very generously provided the bowls and equipment at a substantial discount to aid the scheme.
Presteigne Bowls Club president Brian Shirt said: "The club has used the biggest chunk of the generous grant monies from Sport Wales to purchase the bowls and equipment from Taylor Bowls, and wish to show our thanks and appreciation to all involved."
