IN the Mid Wales League, Presteigne remain unbeaten and have a useful lead over their closest pursuers, Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader.
In mid-table there is a very close battle, with just eight points covering five clubs. Languishing at the bottom of the league at the moment are Spa Bowlers and Knighton – neither team has yet won a game.
The Mid Wales Veterans’ League is led by Brecon ‘A’, who have a slender advantage. This league is extremely closely fought: with a third of the season gone, only seven points separate the team at the top from the team at the foot of the table.
International Honours: Robert Weale (Presteigne) has been selected to play as skip in the Welsh team at the forthcoming internationals, so continuing his record run of appearances for his country. Luke Harwood (Llandrindod) achieves his first international honour, being selected as reserve for the Welsh team at the same internationals to be held at Llandrindod.
