FOLLOWING on from John Cook being selected for the England v Wales Over 60s match, which was unfortunately cancelled due to the weather, Brecon now has another cricketer playing in an international.

Peter Owens has been a stalwart of Brecon CC for 40 years and has previously represented Wales at both over 50 and 60. He now steps up to the over 70s to play the visiting Australians who earlier this week beat England in Banbury by 5 runs. The match due to be played tonight (Wednesday)is an official one-day international of 50 overs per side.

This is the first official season for the Wales Over 70s and they have also had a successful season in the County Championship as they are now in the quarter final knockout stage where they will play Surrey away on Monday, August 20.
