EPYNT Motor Club has donated monies raised at rallies at a presentation evening.
A total of £3250 raised through two of the rallies was donated and Brian Jones, clerk of the course of the Mewla Rally, said: "Epynt Motor Club are very grateful to residents and landowners en route for their co-operation in the running of the rallies, which enables us to support fund raising efforts for the local community."
The DG Jones Agri Ltd Powys Lanes Rally was held in November. The night-time road rally started from the Royal Welsh Showground and covered a 110 mile route in Powys.
A full competitor entry enabled the Powys Lanes Rally to donate £2000 in total, which was split between three beneficiaries; £750 to the Macmillan Renton Unit at Hereford Hospital, £750 to the Llanwrtyd Wells Co-Responder Fund for a new vehicle and £500 to Wales Air Ambulance.
The event sponsor, Gerwyn Jones of DG Jones Agri Ltd said: "I am very pleased to sponsor the Powys Lanes Rally, which continues to help local causes and has now given nearly £6000 to charities in the last five years."
The Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally was held on the Epynt Ranges in August. The rally is a round of national championships and attracts many top drivers and cars. The Mewla Rally donated £1250 raised from spectator areas, with £500 also donated to Wales Air Ambulance and £750 to the Llanwrtyd Wells Co-Responder Fund.
