BUILTH Wells maintained their four point lead at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League second division with a hard fought 2-1 home success against Llansantffraid Village.

Goals from Charlie Boucher and Alex Hicks made it five wins from six for Builth who really have made a fine start to the term.

Builth went a goal down with Nathan Prodger netting for Llansantffraid but equalised on the stroke of half-time when Bradley Rollinson’s free-kick was headed in by Boucher.

Price grabbed the winner in the second half when Rollinson’s corner was only parried and he finished superbly over the stranded ‘keeper.

Presteigne’s new manager, Tom Ammonds was celebrating his first win as the Llanandras Park side defeated Dolgellau 2-0 at home.

The visitors had twice led through Dominic Thomas and David Edwards, who also missed a penalty but Presteigne hit back through Ryan Stokes, Adam Crowe and Merv Stephens (pen).

Penybont are still searching for their first win after going down 7-2 at home against Kerry. Phil Ruell, with a free-kick, and Tom Groves netted for Penybont but Kerry were too strong with Luke Mumford completing a hat-trick while Mark Hughes, Luke Vickers, Daryl McWatt and Adam Pugh also weighed in.

In the day’s other second division game, Four Crosses are up to second after goals from Gareth Jones and Jake Edwards secured a 2-0 win at Dyffryn Banw.
