BUILTH Wells made it two wins from two in the Spar Mid Wales League second division with a 3-1 home success over Churchstoke taking them top of the early season table.
Dave Thomas put Builth in front and perhaps they should have been further ahead by half-time with Josh Price having a couple of decent chances while they also had two penalty appeals turned down.
Churchstoke, who looked a useful side, levelled through Max McLoughlin but Thomas headed his second after the break from Price’s cross.
Churchtoke saw plenty of possession but Builth defended well with ‘keeper, Andrew Claridge making one excellent late save before Liam Ryland secured the win with a third goal in the final minute.
Presteigne claimed their first points of the season with a 1-1 midweek draw at The Racecourse. Phil Ruell scrambled Penybont ahead against one of his former clubs but Matt Strangwood levelled for Presteigne.
