KNIGHTON Town moved a staggering ten points clear at the top of the Spar Mid wales League first division with a 2-0 home win against Waterloo Rovers.
While a goal in each half from Danny Ives and Adam Farmer were earning The Radnor Robins an eighth straight league win, title rivals, Penrhyncoch, who now have four games in hand on Knighton, were again frustrated by the weather Waterloo arrived at Bryn-y-Castell in a bid to frustrate Knighton with everyone behind the ball but The Robins made the breakthrough when Ives flicked in an Adam Worton free-kick. And Worton was again the provider for the second goal on the hour when he spotted the run of Adam Farmer who did the rest.
In-form Hay St Marys are up to fourth in the table after beating Bow Street 3-1 at Forest Road. Jack Biggs opened the scoring when he bundled a Brendan Hackett corner over the line.
Bow Street levelled but The Saints regained their lead on the stroke of half-time through Hackett with a first time effort from 12 yards from Rob Sneddon’s cross. Man of the match, Sneddon clinched the points in the second half as went through one on one to calmly net a third Hay goal.
Llandrindod Wells are also hitting form and the Spa men were 3-0 winners against visiting Llanidloes Town thanks to Richie Powell, Johnny Williams and an own goal which all came in the first half.
Llandrindod dominated from the start and Ashley Jones hit the post following a corner and from another corner, Powell headed in. An excellent cross from Robbie Njicholls resulted in an own goal before Johnny Williams extended the lead after a great pass from ‘keeper, Joe Prosser who picked him out on the left.
