LLANDRIDNOD Wells continued their climb up the Spar Mid-Wales League first division with a big 7-1 victory at Montgomery Town.
Elliot Williams was the star of the show maintaining his rich vein in front of goal with a four goal haul while brothers, Robbie (2) and Shaun Nicholls completed the scoring spree.
League leaders, Rhayader Town saw their lead at the top trimmed to four points as the big Radnorshire derby at Knighton Town ended 1-1.
Tom Bethell had given Rhayader the lead but Knighton salvaged a point with a very late equaliser from the fit again Connor Bird.
Radnor Valley were beaten 2-1 at Llanidloes Town who took the lead with a header from Ed Clarke.
Joey Price capitalised on a goalkeeping error to level on the stroke of half-time but Rhys Evans won it for The Daffs with the only goal of the second half.
Berriew closed the gap on Rhayader with a 6-1 home success over Tywyn Bryncrug. Richard Davies and Steffan Rogers each scored twice with Karl Seliaerts and Rob Pritchard completing the six hit.
Carno kept up their challenge with Peter Rees, Ashley Owen, Richie Evans and Gregg brown netting in a 4-1 victory at Aberaeron while Llanraheadr came from a goal down to beat Bow Street 2-1 thanks to Iwan Matthews (pen) and Mark Griffiths.
Welshpool Town and Machynlleth had drawn 3-3 on Friday night with Sam Evans grabbing a late equaliser for Welshpool to move them off the bottom. Neil Pryce netted Welshpool’s other goals with Andrew Page grabbing a hat-trick for Machynlleth.
In Division Two, Presteigne fell to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of leaders, Borth United. Ben Jones and Ryan Davies put The Seasiders two up at half-time and Liam lewis sealed it after the break although Presteigne had their fair share of chances throughout but again lacked that cutting edge in front of goal.
In the other Division Two games Nathan Prodger and Bryn Jones scored in Llansantffraid Village’s 2-0 win at Abermule and Dyffryn Banw shocked Dolgellau 2-0 thanks to Tom Foulkes and Llyr Thomas.
