RADNOR Valley’s first taste of action in the Spar Mid Wales League first division sees the New Radnor side travel to Waterloo Rovers on Saturday August 5.
It is an early start for Spar Mid Wales clubs this season with Hay St Marys also kicking off away at Montgomery Town on the same day.
Knighton Town, who so narrowly missed out on the first division title last term, will face League Champions, Penrhyncoch in the Summer Cup Final. The Radnor Robins start their league campaign away at Hay St Marys the following night when Llandrindod Wells host Welshpool Town.
In Division two, Presteigne face a long trip to newcomers, Dolghellau on the opening day while Newbridge visit another new team, Forden United. Newbridge and Presteigne will then clash in their first midweek fixture.
The fixtures for the first week in the Spar Mid Wales League are: Friday August 5 - Division 2:- Bettws v Llansantffraid Village, Churchstoke v Abermule.
Saturday August 6 - Division 1:- Aberaeron v Tywyn Bryncrug, Bow Street v Berriew, Montgomery Town v Hay St Marys, Llanrhaeade v Carno, Rhayader Town v Machynlleth, Waterloo Rovers v Radnor Valley. Division 2:- Dolgellau v Presteigne, Dyffryn Banw v Kerry, Forden United v Newbridge; Summer Cup Final – Penrhyncoch v Knighton Town.
Tuesday August 9 - Division 1:- Berriew v Rhayader Town, Bow Street v Tywyn Bryncrug, Carno v Waterloo Rovwers, Llanrheadr v Monrgomery Town, Machynlleth v Aberaeron.
Wednesday August 10 - Division 1:- Hay St Mary s v Knighton Town, Llandrindod Wells v Welshpool Town. Division 2:- Abermule v Bettws, Churchstoke v Llansantffraid Village, Dyffryn Banw v Borth United, Kerry v Forden United, Nerwbridge v Presteigne.
