MARK Weiland was celebrating his first win as manager as Presteigne triumphed 3-2 at Bont in the Spar Mid Wales League second division.
The East Radnor side notched their first win in any competition since September with Allan Stocker netting twice to give them a 2-0 lead.
Cerith Davies scored twice for Bont from corners in the second half to peg presteigne back but there was a twist in the tale and it went in Presteignes’ favour as Owen Williams bagged their winner.
Radnor Valley maintained their recent good form with a 2-0 home verdict over Newbridge. Joe Price was Radnor’s shooting star with a goal in each half but Newbridge, for who Aaeron Powell was outstanding, gave them a really good game playing far better than their league position suggests.
Borth United were comfortable 4-0 winners at Bettws with Jamie Walker, Gwion Pugh-Jones and Jamie Evans giving them a three goal interval lead before Ben Jones completed the win in the second half.
In the one game played on Sunday, Rian Devlin maintained his fine form with a hat-trick as Aberystwyth University won 3-1 at Churchstoke. Joe Haycock netted for the hosts.
