Presteigne St Andrews FC have announced that Shaun Harris is to be the new first team manager at Llanandras Park.
Harris was previously manager of Kington Town and more recently has been helping out Gareth Jenkins at Hay St Marys.
Presteigne chairman Andrew Crowe said the committee was delighted to have attracted someone of Shaun’s obvious abilities.
"When we first met with Shaun we felt he would be a very strong candidate," he said.
"As well as his obvious coaching experience the overwhelming aspect that came across was Shaun’s enthusiasm and drive.
"Crucially, he feels Presteigne is a very good fit for him as he looks to step up from being an assistant to the manager’s job.
"Shaun has already been to Llanandras Park on a couple of occasions and may well be in the dugout for the final game of the Spar Mid Wales League season in which we will host Churchstoke on Wednesday, 5 April," he added.
Shaun, who is looking forward to taking up the role at the start of next season, said: "I am really pleased to have been offered the post at Presteigne St Andrews and am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
"While a look at the league table would tell you there is clearly work to be done, the club has some good young players.
"My predecessor Tom Ammonds deserves a lot of credit for the work he’s done this season and the challenge now is to build on that.
"With a few additions, I am confident we can put together a competitive squad for next season."
