Two teams of golfers are set to go head-to-head in a 72-hole challenge next weekend for charity.

Rhosgoch Golf Club will host the event, which will see two teams of four complete 72 holes of golf on Saturday, June 11. The event is a fundraising challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The teams are taking part in memory of recently lost friends and family and for loved ones that are still living with cancer every day. They have come together as a group of enthusiastic golfers to do what they can, to raise as much as they can, to help others get support and care that organisations like Macmillan provides.

One of the team members taking part in the charity fundraiser is MS for Brecon and Radnorshire James Evans.

Mr Evans said: “I am thoroughly looking forward to the MacMillan 72 hole golf challenge fundraiser for Cancer Research.

“With people taking part in this challenge across the UK, we are hoping to raise serious money to go towards MacMillan and their incredible work.

“Golf is a sport that unites people of all backgrounds and cultures and using its power to fundraise for charity is something many people do locally in courses across Brecon and Radnorshire.”
