SHERRIE Edwards lifted the Ladies Champion Trophy for the 13th time at Builth Wells Golf Club last weekend.

Played over 36 holes in showery blustery conditions, she returned scores of 80 and 81 gross. Anne Lloyd took the runner up spot. Grace Edwards, the in-form teenager, won the 36 hole nett competition with scores of 70 and 65, ahead of Kim Allen who was runner up.

The first round nett winner was Chris Hughes with Hayley Price winning the second round 18 holes.

Mother and daughter Chris and Lisa Hughes won the Daily Mail qualifier and will represent the club at the knock out stage.

Builth hosted the Mid Wales County Association team of three competition and attracted a large field of 24 teams.

The winners were home club members Jayne Wynn, Grace Edwards and Hayley Price with a score of 79 points, one point ahead of runners up Sheila Saer, Kim Allen and Lorna Jones also from Builth.
