THE rearranged date for the Midsummer Madness saw 20 players compete for the Gill Balham Trophy.

The competition is mixed foursomes and is played over 12 holes with refreshments after the round in the cabin on the 12th tee.

The scoring was very good with the winners being six shots better than their handicaps and two points clear of second with third place only one shot further back, Alison Matthews also won the nearest the pin on the 12th hole.

Results:- First: Rob & Dawn Goodwin - 30 points; Third: Les Gwynne & Ronnie Cresswell - 28 points; Third: Dave & Alison Matthews - 27 points.

The great scores continue for this weeks stableford competition with the top five all being better than 40 points, a credit to all the golfers for their fine rounds but also a special mention to the Greenstaff who have produced a course that is both playing very well but also looking as good as it is playing.

Jack Rodell-Jones climbed onto the winners podium after shooting three over gross and he was eight shots better than his handicap, for the second week running Jacob Cole came in with a score over 40 points and he can say goodbye to more of his handicap after this round.

Pat Hart produced an excellent round to claim third spot just pipping Tomos Griffin over the back nine holes with Sam Lloyd claiming fifth spot with a commendable 40 points.

Fifth: Sam Lloyd (h’cap 10) 40 points. Five Titliest Velocity’s for 2’s.
