RYMXC Rhayader ventured to Castle Caereinion for round 3 of their club championship on Sunday, April 21.

After a dry and sunny week the track gave the riders quite a challenge.

Race 1 was the AMX and Open class together. Ieuan Morgan was first out of the gate with Shaun Buchan hot on his heels followed by Corey Edwards.

Hotly contested racing saw Morgan, who is on the 450 this year, flying, going 1-2-1 taking the overall with Buchan finishing second and Edwards third respectively.

AMX rider DJT was a force to be reckoned with and even gave the open riders a run for their money. The heat certainly wasn’t an issue for him as he now resides in the high climates of Dubai and he impressively took the three wins in the AMX.

Consistency from Rhys Lloyd saw him take second from Callum Evans who was third.

Next to face the gate were the seniors. Will Holder was back for 2019 and he dominated taking all three race wins on his Honda proving he’s the boy to beat. Kris Price and Nathan Tomlinson battled for positions going back and forth in the races. Bike problems in race 1 saw Tomlinson finish 4th overall on the day. Price earned second place with a 2-3-2, with Tomos Kear taking the third place spot.

The next race saw the stars of the future the autos on the gate. Flying Arthur Moore was unstoppable and was on fire taking all three race wins. Sean Smout comfortably went 2-2-2 finishing second followed by Gruff Morgan who secured third overall.

The keen juniors were up next and young rider Sebby Moore superbly took the chequered flag in races 1 and 2. In the third race he couldn’t quite grab the lead off an impressive Riley Francis. Moore still had the win overall and Francis went 2-2-1 securing him a second place. A consistent ride from Celt Rees gave him third for the day.

It was then the small wheels 85s turn joined with the big wheels. Lewis Roden was king of the big wheels notching up three outstanding wins giving him the victory for the day. It was Dewi Little who took a well-deserved second place with a 2-2-2 with consistency from Dan Bywater taking a proud third position overall.

A flying Richard Jones came out on top in the novice race even though he didn’t manage to grab the race win in race 2 from Roy Morris. Morris had a successful day going 2-1-2 for second followed by Jonathan Murvai with a third after having 3-3-3

The vets was a race to watch as the sun brought out some talented riders for the day. Ben Sweeney dominated the class with an easy maximum. Consistent David Evans went 3-2-2 earning him second. While Andy Little had to settle for third overall.
