THREE rising young rugby stars from Breconshire have made Robin McBryde's 32 strong Wales training squad for this summer's tour of Japan.
The trio are Cardiff Blues forward Sam Hobbs and promising Ospreys duo Dan Baker and teenager Dafydd Howells.
Wales face Japan in Osaka on Saturday, June 8, in the first test before travelling to Tokyo for the second fixture a week later on Saturday, June 15.
The training squad will be reduced ahead of the tour with a total of 27 players travelling to Japan.
It is a major coup for the trio, who will hope to make the plane and gain their first taste of international rugby, with many of Wales' senior stars on British & Irish Lions duty in Australia.
Prop Hobbs, 24, is from Brecon, and has over 50 appearances under his belt for the Blues.
Number 8 Baker, 20, from Ystradgynlais, has been a key member of the Swansea side in this season's Principality Premiership campaign, and has featured a few times for the Ospreys.
Winger Howells, who has only just turned 18, is from Abercrave, and has just made his first senior Ospreys appearance, while also featuring prominently for Neath in the Premiership.
