THE Great Britain para table tennis team picked up seven medals in the team events at the Slovenia Open last week - including two golds for Brecon boy Rob Davies. There were three gold medals in the men's class one, men's class six and men's class seven events with Rob and Will Bayley adding team gold to the singles titles they won last Thursday. The men's class one team saw the Welsh combination of Rob Davies and Paul Davies come through a tough semi-final against Italy to reach the final, where Rob made it 2-0 after beating Marcus Sieger 3-0, following Paul's win in the first match. Germany came back to 2-1, but in an epic fourth match, Rob got off to a slow start against Nikelis before fighting back magnificently to take the match 15-13 and give GB the gold with an overall 3-1 win. For more on Rob's table tennis exploits, get this week's B&R, which is out now.
