BRECON Rugby Club has been forced to move its home league game with Croesyceiliog to Merthyr Tydfil’s Wern ground.

The table toppers will make use of the WRU Premiership side’s artificial 3G pitch to ensure their WRU League 1 East fixture can go ahead on Saturday, January 13.

The club said the state of its pitches at its Parc De Pugh ground, and with further rainfall expected, has led to it moving the game against tenth placed Croesyceiliog to the all weather pitch. Kick-off has however been brought forward to 1pm.

Brecon ran out 16-6 winners over Dowlais last weekend while Croesyceiliog enjoyed the narrowest of victories over their Gwent rivals, winning 26-27, at Abertillery/Blaenau Gwent.

Next week Brecon will hope to return to Parc De Pugh for the visit of second placed Brynmawr, the only team to have beaten Andy Powell’s men in the league this season.

Brecon Youth team’s Saturday fixture against Ynysbwl has also been moved from Parc De Pugh. But the boys will stay closer to home with Christ College, Brecon providing the alternative venue. The seconds are away to Caerphilly. Both the youth and second team fixtures kick-off at 2.30pm.
