DAN LYDIATE will return to the Welsh team for the first time in a year for Saturday’s home fixture against Scotland.

Wales are playing an unusual autumn rugby test against Six Nations opposition at the Principality Stadium ahead of three further autumn fixtures.

Ospreys flanker Lydiate, from Abbeycwmir, will start in his favoured blindside flanker role on Saturday in a back row containing number 8 Ross Moriarty and open side Justin Tipuric.

Lydiate missed most of last season through injury and hasn’t been able to add to his 62 caps since appearing as a substitute in Wales 24-22 victory over South Africa last December. The 30-year-old also captained Wales in the 13-6 victory over Georgia last autumn.

He missed five months of the season following a bicep injury while playing for the Ospreys in December 2017, having missed most of the 2016/17 season through a knee injury.

The experienced British Lion will be joined in Saturday’s team by uncapped Ospreys wing Luke Morgan. Their clubmate Alun Wyn Jones will captain the side.

The full team is Lee Halfpenny, George North, Jonathan Davies, Hadleigh Parkes, Luke Morgan, Gareth Anscombe, Gareth Davies, N Smith, Ken Owens, D Lewis, Corey Hill, Alun Wyn Jones, Dan Lydiate, Justin Tipuric, Ross Moriarty.
