Gwernyfed Ladies rugby team return to action when they play Llantwit Fardre this weekend.

The ladies, having had no games since December 8 due to a new season structure introduced by the WRU, will travel to play the opposition in the first round of the WRU Plate this Sunday, March 1.

Having both played in the WRU Women’s Merit Table before the long winter break, the two teams have not previously met.

The Sunday afternoon game will determine which team will compete for the cup, as the losing side will compete for the bowl.

Gwernyfed Ladies, who are based in Talgarth, welcome players of all abilities and can be found on social media by searching ‘Gwernyfed Ladies’.

The club also hosts the female hub for South Powys, The Red Kites, and welcomes girls aged 6 to 18 to play rugby.

Training is held at Gwernyfed RFC, Talgarth, and will begin on Friday, March 27 at 6pm.
