BRECON Volleyball Club started their campaign in the Welsh league with two 3-0 wins.

Both games were against their old friends Swansea 360 and Cardiff Celts. After losing to Swansea at a friendly tournament organised by Hereford Volleyball Club, Brecon looked for a revenge - and it was perfect occasion to do so.

"Billy got the tactics spot on. We started the game very confidently, with every player knowing their role on the court, and the hard work at our Tuesday night training sessions really paid off", said Dawid Kubacki, the captain. "We showed great character in the second set coming back from 16-10. Great serves from Tim, Paul’s pick, Dave setts and spikes from Rupert and Craig brought us level and we were on course for the first win.

"In the game against Cardiff Celts we made a few team changes. It’s worth mentioning that Brecon is the only mixed team in the League where we have two women - Jennie and Karolina - playing against men, with the higher net, the net in men’s volleyball is 16cm higher than for the women’s game."

At the moment Brecon Volleyball Club leads the table with nine points.
