THE OVO Energy Women’s Tour arrives in Powys tomorrow with an 87 mile loop of the county starting at Llandrindod Lake.

Some of the world’s top cyclists will be on the start line at 10.30am aiming to be the first to reach the Royal Welsh Showground, at Llanelwedd. The first finishers are expected to reach the showground, near Builth Wells, at around 2.20pm on Friday afternoon.

The race started in Suffolk on Monday and the four stages have featured three different winners.

Thursday’s stage, that started in Warwick and featured a hill-top finish at Burton Dassett Country Park, was won by Polish cyclist Katarzyna Niewiadoma.

On Wednesday Boels Dolmans Cycling Team’s Jolien D’hoore continued her strong start to this year’s OVO Energy Women’s Tour as she sprinted to victory at historic Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, on Wednesday to claim her second win in three days.

Dutch star Marianne Vos dropped out of the race on Wednesday after falling and suffering cuts and bruises.
