THE weekend of August 5-6 saw the British Cycling National Mountain Bike series being brought to the showground in Builth Wells.
Hosted by John Lloyd Racing and supported by Bulls Cycling Club, Builth Wells, the top riders competed on a purpose built course.
The course was fast with punchy climbs, tricky descents and technical features such as the rock garden and the gap jump.
The weekend started on Saturday with the sport and open categories.
Children’s races were held Saturday evening starting with under 6s and finishing with the under 12s.
The children raced using part of the main course giving the youngsters a taste of what it is like to race on the national scene.
Sunday morning the course was open by 7.45am giving riders a chance to complete any last minute practice before the day kicked off with the youth and juvenile racing.
This was followed by the female race and culminated in the elite race at 3.15.
