Dyfed-Powys Police have issued anti-social behaviour warning letters to youths in a Powys town.

Following complaints to the police, three letters have been issued to youths in the Knighton area, thanks to the local neighbourhood policing team.

The letters could lead to fines of up to £2500.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Recently there have been complaints regarding anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Knighton which has been causing harassment, alarm, fear and distress to local residents in the community.

“Due to the hard work by the Knighton Neighbourhood Policing Team, three ASB Warning Letters were issued to youths which could lead to fines up to £2500.

The spokesperson added: “Dyfed-Powys Police takes a strong stand on this type of behaviour and will not tolerate actions which have a negative impact on the quality of life of those living in our communities.”
