Five children and a bus driver have been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision in north Powys.

The incident took place off Neaudd Lane in Llanfair Caereinion this afternoon, shortly before 3:30pm.

There were no passengers aboard the bus, although five children and the male bus driver were taken to hospital. Dyfed-Powys Police has not said how serious their injuries are.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is at the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred at about 3.25 today, 23^rd May 2022 on School Lane, just off Neuadd Lane, Llanfair Caereinion, Welshpool.”

“A school bus and a number of young pedestrians were involved in the collision.

“The male driver of the bus and five children have been taken to hospital.

“There were no passengers on the bus.

“The road is closed with diversions in place. Please avoid the area if possible.”
