A 14-year-old girl is facing an attempted murder charge after another girl was allegedly stabbed.

Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating after a girl was allegedly stabbed in an incident that took place in the Coelbren area, in the far south of Powys, shortly after 7pm on Thursday, November 16.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries where she remains in a stable condition.

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. 

She has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Merthyr Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Monday, November 20).
