The latest wildfire near Glascwm has affected approximately 90 hectares of land, with firefighters continuing to tackle the blaze.

In an update issued today, the fire service said crews from Builth Wells, Rhayader, Hay-on-Wye, Brecon, Llandrindod Wells, Presteigne, Newtown, Machynlleth, Llanfyllin, Llanwrtyd, Knighton and Aberaeron fire stations have attended the incident.

Around 90 hectares of land have been affected.

The fire remains ongoing, with firefighters still at the scene working to bring it under control.

The public has been asked to avoid the affected areas to allow emergency services to operate safely and effectively.

Anyone affected by smoke is advised to stay indoors where possible and keep windows and doors closed.

Once the smoke has cleared and it is safe to do so, people should open windows and doors to ventilate their homes.

The fire service said anyone who sees flames, or believes life or property is at immediate risk, should call 999.
