Firefighters from across Powys were called to tackle a large barn fire in Libanus, near Brecon, on Sunday evening.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Brecon, Talgarth, Crickhowell, Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells were sent to the scene at 7:51pm, supported by a crew from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
The blaze involved a single-storey barn measuring about 45m by 20m, containing around 29 tonnes of straw bales and small farm machinery. The straw was removed from the building and moved to a nearby field while crews dampened down hotspots.
Six hose reel jets, four pumps, a rural response pump and two water bowsers were used to bring the fire under control. The barn was severely damaged and crews left the scene at 12:21am on Monday.
The fire service is reminding farmers of its free bale temperature and moisture content testing service, designed to reduce the risk of spontaneous combustion.
