An investigation has been launched after a man in his 80s was injured in an assault at a park in Llandrindod Wells.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the incident happened at Rock Park at about 6:15pm on Wednesday, April 1.

The victim sustained a facial injury and required hospital treatment.

A 21-year-old man from Newtown has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. He has since been released on police bail.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
