Dyfed-Powys Police has issued a Community Protection Warning, following a ‘repeat incident’ of a farm dog biting a person.

The forces’s rural crime team confirmed that the warning had been been given out earlier this month following the incident on The Glyndwrs Way public road route, which runs between Knighton and Welshpool.

A spokesperson for the rural crime team reminded dog owners that their animals must be adequately controlled to prevent these incidents and escape.

A Community Protection Notice is intended to deal with unreasonable, ongoing problems or nuisances which negatively affect the community’s quality of life by targeting the person responsible.

The Notice can direct any individual over the age of 16, business or organisation responsible to stop causing the problem and it could also require the person responsible to take reasonable steps to ensure that it does not occur again.
