It said: “Brecon RFC is saddened and disappointed to report that our pavilion was broken into and subjected to senseless vandalism overnight, with significant damage being caused to club property.”

The club added that incidents of this nature place further strain on already stretched community organisations run by volunteers.

“These are already challenging times for community clubs like ours, where volunteers and small teams of staff work tirelessly to keep facilities running for players, supporters, and the wider community,” it said.

“Incidents like this not only cause financial strain, but are deeply disheartening for everyone connected to the club.”

Brecon RFC has urged anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information, to come forward and contact the club or police.

“Despite this setback, Brecon RFC will continue to stand strong in the community. We thank our members, supporters, sponsors, and volunteers for their ongoing support,” the statement added.

The Brecon & Radnor Express has contacted Dyfed-Powys Police for comment.
