Award-winning baroque violinist Rachel Podger is again directing the much-loved Brecon Baroque Festival, which runs from October 17-20.

The festival will feature 12 events across the town, including orchestral and chamber concerts at Brecon Cathedral, Theatr Brycheiniog, The Plough Chapel, and St David's Church, Llanfaes.

In addition to the music, the programme includes talks from authors Tom Bullough and Gareth Russell, while Daisy Prendergast-Wilson will give a presentation on her father, celebrated Welsh landscape artist Peter Prendergast. Festival-goers can also take part in Town Walks led by local residents Emma Hayes and Dylan Matthews.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Podger said: "The Brecon Baroque Festival weekend is a real one-off. Musicians and audience fly in from every corner of the globe for a perfect weekend of music-making. We can't wait."

Four of the 12 events have already sold out, so organisers are urging anyone wanting to attend to book early. Ticketing information and further details about the festival are available at: breconbaroquefestival.com
