With Libby handing over the role of chair to Ffion at the start of the year, its been a non stop whirlwind of competitions and fun events for all the members at Sennybridge. The new officers Reuben as vice chair, secretaries Nia and Lowri, Meg collecting all the money and Evie keeping notes on what’s what, everyone is looking forward to the year ahead with Eileen as the club president writes Marilyn Jones.

The Eisteddfod day included the Public Reading Competitions which had lots of entries. First place was achieved by Anest, Lowri and Thomas with Efa, Layla and Lucy coming third. Darcy was a guest member for Trecastle reading team and helped them gain a first place.

The rest of the day was completed with amazing results in the dancing , the ensemble and the fun choir all winning, along with first place in the humerous duet (Elin Sophie and Ffion), Anest, Evie and Owain singing their way to success. They are now all going forward to represent Brecknock at the Wales YFC Eisteddfod Nia won the Limerick competition and Evie was second in a homework competition.

Other members placed were Ellis, Brodie and Gareth, Meg and Lowri. The best performance in the music section and for the best performance in Welsh was won by Owain and Best performance in the literary section was won by Anest.

Sennybridge Young Farmers’ Club offers a wide range of activites for 10-28 year olds and membership costs £25 a year.
