A CRICKHOWELL bookshop is one of four in Wales in the running to be named the 2020 Independent Bookshop of the Year.
The British Book Awards, known as Nibbies, has revealed its regional shortlists for this year’s title and 49 bookshops from nine regions are competing to be named the country’s best indie retailer for books.
Book-ish in Crickhowell is nominated for the Welsh title alongside The Chepstow Bookshop, Chepstow, Cover to Cover in Swansea and Griffin Books in Penarth.
Bookish is defending the Welsh title it won last year and is one of just three of last year’s winners from across the UK that are again nominated this year.
The shops will compete to win their regionfirst, before vying for the overall prize, to be given out at the British Book Awards ceremony, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on May 18.
