Brecknock RWAS Feature County group hosted a charity tribute night on Brecon showground as part of the counties feature year at the Royal Welsh showground on Monday, 3 August.

The night was compered by Phil Steele who interviewed personalities from across the county in front of an audience of 220 people.

The evening concluded with a charity auction of donated lots in aid of Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cymru. Top prizes were on offer and included a three-course meal for ten cooked by a top chef.

The total amount raised was £19,217.16 which has been split equally between Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cymru; both charities received £9,608.58.

On Tuesday, 8 September, Brecknock RWAS Feature County group welcomed Breast Cancer Now and Prostate Cymru to Brecon Livestock Market for tea and coffee and to present the charities with their cheques.

Following the presentation the cheques to the charities and some photo opportunities, the RWAS Feature County group’s president, Gethin Havard said: “The outcome of this fundraising has been amazing once again and to support two brilliant charities is something we can be very proud of.”

Brecknocks fundraising for charities as well as the Royal Welsh Show as feature County doesn't end until this year’s Winter Fair so the final tally won't be declared until then, but President Gethin Havard confirmed that funds raised so far have surpassed all expectations.
